LOL @ yxl1, thats putting it to good use!
I had a nice black leather bookbag that got donated to good will; best thng I ever did with it.
i use my book bag to store my computer soft ware in its perfect for that.
and as for all the old issues of magazines i used them to start my wood stove on those cold mornings.
one time i asked for a lot of older issues from the friends so i could use them to line the bottom of my camp tent, they were more than happy to give them to me.

now, i know bassets are stubborn.
i also know they have selective hearing and can give the impression of being downright stupid at times.
ladybug, however, is really becoming a problem!
Nina,
We had that problem with our beautiful black lab, Lady. Turned out she had a recurring bladder infection. Some trips to the vet and some antibiotics did the trick ( never thought to try cranberry juice!)

welcome, Greg from Poland
I have not seen any posts from that part of the globe

can someone point me to the post that listed all the corporate names...its about a dozen i think.. i wanted to show my family and ask them which visible organization is god behind?
I do not see any women represented. I doubt if there are any minorities ( hard to tell with just names)
Should not someone remind them that this is the 21 Century?
i was very badly bullied in school, although most of the bullying was verbal.
i was the only witness kid in school too.
when i got to college, i made damned sure i never told anyone what religion i was.. .
I had similar experiences, and as Maxwell put it, most of it was because I was a goody little kid. But the memories of being excluded for xmas and birthday parties still sting me; especially when I see how secure and happy my kids are. And the non saluting of the flag sent a clear message to all the other kids as to who the "unpatriotic" target would be.
Did this contribute to being an individual thinker as I got older? I really do not know the answer to that , except to add that to this day I do not care about peer pressure, or what others think about me; and wonder if all that difficulting being the odd ball as a kid, had some positive results as an adult.

i'm listening .
LOL @ phantom stranger....
oregon is too far to travel to buy someone drinks....when you are in New York, give me a call and we will find something to toast to!
How about a toast to "The Watchtower and Bible Tract Society"...I'll pick up the tab for that one!

this sounds suspiciously like a "Minimus" question....has Minimus changed his moniker?
experience over the weekend.
just to clarify..... sad is the societys official acronym for special assembly day.
i attended yesterday at the brooklyn assembly hall with approximately 1,800 others.
That young sister who left higher education to "pioneer" is an excellent example of how brainwashed a young person who actually "inhales'" all that @#$%&?!! can be. That poor child is literally throwing away her future. And where are her parents? JW or not, they must realize that higher education can only help their child ( maybe not, been there, done that)
My worldy cousin graduated college as a dentist, at which point my immediate family managed to convert him to a JW ( he fell hook, line and sinker, and is now an elder). The WTBTS got wind of him and took him in as their "in house" dentist. How did they do it? They offered to pay ALL of his tuition ( bank loans) in full. He stayed for years.
they discourage where they can, but use others to their advantage. Is this a double edged sword?
just a little curious.
i have noticed as i get older my sense of taste changes.
i never liked tea when i was young but, now i do.
as I grew older , traveled and experienced life, and progressed as an "individual", my tastes changed.
The WTBTS is a corporation, a legal "entity" in the eyes of the law ( and IRS)
Does it not make sense to think that "corporations" can and do invest their money? And to think that it is all tax deductable.....at least outside of France ( chuckle)
The properties in Brooklyn Heights alone must be worth billions of dollars.
